The WTTR news staff brings you 27 locally produced newscasts every weekday from a crew that has won hundreds of professional journalism awards and community honors over the past several decades. The most recent awards were presented by the Associated Press in June, 2010. WTTR was honored for OUTSTANDING YEAR-ROUND LOCAL SPORTS COVERAGE in 2009, and for OUTSTANDING LOCAL SPORTS FEATURE for the Barnes Service Center/Bridgestone Tire WTTR Athlete of the Week program.

News Director - Mark Woodworth
Mark's origins in broadcasting go back four decades to college radio in California. After stints in Massachusetts and Virginia, Mark became well-known to Baltimore area listeners as a rocking DJ on the FM dial in the 70s and 80s. After a short stop in Pennsylvania, he came to WTTR "just for fun!" for some weekend music programs. That was 19 years ago. Mark started news reporting and working on community affairs shows in 1993 and has since won 30 awards as a radio journalist. He now serves as a board member of the Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association.
