Shop Local for the Holidays at the Carroll Arts Center’s Gallery of Gifts
31 August 2018
The Carroll Arts Center continues their annual tradition of transforming their Tevis Gallery into a festive “Gallery of Gifts” during the holiday shopping season. Gallery of Gifts is a special exhibit that resembles a boutique or craft fair rather than a traditional gallery exhibit, as 45+ artists display their unique wares.
Now in its tenth year, the show will feature the same level of artistic quality that Arts Center visitors have come to expect while encouraging them to shop local and buy handmade. There will be a wide variety of hand-crafted creations from inexpensive stocking stuffers, holiday décor and traditional arts and crafts to truly elegant one-of-a-kind gifts. Local artists combine with regional artists for a distinctive flavor of fashion, fantasy and whimsy. Shoppers will find an artful masterpiece to please everyone on their gift list.
“Instead of going to a crowded department store filled with anxious holiday shoppers, visit our gallery and enjoy a more peaceful, creative shopping environment,” says CCAC’s Visual Arts Coordinator Susan Williamson. “And by shopping local, rather than online, you know you are buying quality handmade goods that seem more thoughtful to the gift recipient.”
The Gallery of Gifts will be open November 16-December 22 during regular business hours (Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat 10 am to 4 pm; Tue/Thur 10 am to 7 pm) and will also have extended hours during special events, including the Festival of Wreaths. To lessen everyone’s holiday stress, there will be complimentary gift bagging for all purchases!
The Festival of Wreaths will also be on view during the Gallery of Gifts from November 23 through December 2, 10 am – 7 pm daily. Visitors can bid on the wreaths while doing their holiday shopping!
