Winter Exhibits at the Carroll Arts Center

The Carroll Arts Center is hosting two new art exhibits from January 8 through March 2, 2019.

“Elements” in the Tevis Gallery
The four elements play a leading role in the creative life of the artists in this exhibit. Earth, Air, Fire, and Water all mix in a wondrous formula to end up as pigments, clay, wood, and metals. Artists include Maggie Ball, found objects from nature; Patrick Timothy Caughy, ceramics; Charlotte Laslo, metalsmithing; Virginia Vincent Sperry, rust photography and sculpture; Thomas Sterner, wood; Terry Whye, ceramics; and various artists from The Art of Fire Contemporary Glass Studio.

“Inspired by Pearls” in the Community Gallery
The Four County Quilters Guild challenge this year was to create a quilt inspired by the theme of a pearl. This challenge commemorates their 30th year as a guild. Twenty -three quilters will be represented in this winter warmer pearl-inspired exhibit

The public is invited to a celebratory reception on Thursday, January 17 from 5 to 7 pm. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and cash bar will be part of the festivities. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

The Carroll Arts Center is located at 91 W. Main St. Westminster, MD. The exhibits are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are: M, W, F, Sa, 10 am – 4 pm and Tue and Thurs, 10 am – 7pm. The gallery is also open during special events in the theatre. Please check our web site www.carrollcountyartscouncil.org or call 410-848-7272 for more information.
