Winter Exhibits at the Carroll Arts Center
26 November 2018
The Carroll Arts Center is hosting two new art exhibits from January 8 through March 2, 2019.
“Elements” in the Tevis Gallery
The four elements play a leading role in the creative life of the artists in this exhibit. Earth, Air, Fire, and Water all mix in a wondrous formula to end up as pigments, clay, wood, and metals. Artists include Maggie Ball, found objects from nature; Patrick Timothy Caughy, ceramics; Charlotte Laslo, metalsmithing; Virginia Vincent Sperry, rust photography and sculpture; Thomas Sterner, wood; Terry Whye, ceramics; and various artists from The Art of Fire Contemporary Glass Studio.
“Inspired by Pearls” in the Community Gallery
The Four County Quilters Guild challenge this year was to create a quilt inspired by the theme of a pearl. This challenge commemorates their 30th year as a guild. Twenty -three quilters will be represented in this winter warmer pearl-inspired exhibit
The public is invited to a celebratory reception on Thursday, January 17 from 5 to 7 pm. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and cash bar will be part of the festivities. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
