Athlete of the Week - 9/15/2025

Field Hockey

Freshman Tessa Becraft scored two game-winning goals on the week. She tallied twice against Broadneck as the Lions field hockey team won a back-and-forth contest 4-3. And then as the Lions defeated South Carroll 2-1, the forward netted another goal in the late stages of the game.

Ben Phillips had the first hat trick of his high school career in leading the Mavericks boys soccer team in a 6-0 shutout of Key. The senior forward then posted another goal as the Mavs beat Walkersville 2-1.

Junior forward Ryan Cellitto teamed with Ben Phillips to give the Mavericks their first two wins of the season. He had a goal and an assist against Walkersville in addition to scoring twice against FSK.

Football

Mavs running back Connor Stack rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns in a 24-20 victory over FSK. The senior excelled in the final minute of play, scoring his second touchdown, and then closing down the Eagles with an interception from his cornerback spot to secure the win.
